Dead two years before
                                    he died
to some of those who loved him.

Staring at the television
afraid of the things he sees.
                                     what is this?
Looking into the eyes of his son
blank and pleading

The wind broke the sky; it
burst out in blue-ness,
caught fire, and
dived down towards the ground.
I dreamed you inside it, frozen-
suspended in the broken air.
You shone with fragments of the sun
haloing your hair, your lips, until
broken, you spoke:
"Why do you stand when I must fall?"
I threw my love into that wind, trying
to catch the shards of you.
Though the net was wide, it
was littered with holes
rent from years of careless words of
painful barbs and
you slipped through
and were gone.
Scalpin for PleasureHis hair looked coarse and stippled with gray. It always mocked me. I wanted to touch it, to see if it felt as rough as it looked. To snag my hangnails in his crinkly curls, feel the painful pull. Finally it's in my hands, but now it's wet with blood.

wrote this for my husband. used a template from :iconprintsforlit: which was created by :iconcosmosue: I played with it because I like purple, and purple wasn't an option.
